An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time senior pediatric audiologist / NHSP Team leader to join West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust Newborn Hearing screening team. If you are passionate about Newborn Hearing Screening and wish to influence the development of our service within the context of the Trust’s core values, we would like to hear from you.
For this post you will be qualified to BSc/ MSc Audiology or equivalent. You should be registered with RCCP.
The Newborn Hearing Screening services is multi-site service which is provided across hospital and outpatient services. You will be working in collaboration with the Paediatric Audiologists at Peace Children’s Centre (Children’s audiology)- Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust
Main duties of the job
West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides Antenatal services across three sites: Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans. The Trust also provides care for women from neighbouring areas including North London and Bedfordshire. The population served by the West Hertfordshire Hospitals Trust Maternity and Diagnostic Imaging services is diverse and lives in both urban and rural areas. The Trust provides the full range of antenatal, labour, birth and postnatal care. All ANNB screening programmes are offered.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will fulfil the NHSP Team leader position for West Hertfordshire Hospitals as detailed in Service specification No.20 -NHS Newborn Hearing Screening Programme.
The post holder takes professional and operational responsibility for organising the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. This includes training and development of the Newborn Hearing screening team, managing quality improvement and governance of the programme in accordance with the policies of the National Newborn Hearing Screening Programme.
