We are looking for an individual to take on the day to day operational management and co-ordination of the Theatre Suite at Watford Hospital. The post holder must be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills, be a caring and compassionate individual focused on providing excellent quality patient care, working within the values held by West Hertfordshire Hospital Trust.
The post holder will be responsible for the day to day co-ordination of 8 theatres, supported by a team of Advanced Theatre Practitioners. The main surgical specialties accessing these theatres are: General Surgery; Gynecology and obstetrics; Urology; Vascular; Ophthalmology and ENT and Orthopaedics (elective and emergency).
The post holder will work closely with colleagues in all surgical specialties to improve the patient flow through theatres. They will be able to empower and motivate others, dynamic and forward-thinking, thrive in a busy environment, have experience in change management, and be able to work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.
You must be a Registered Nurse or Registered Operating Department Practitioner with relevant experience at a senior level in a theatre environment.
An informal visit is essential prior to short listing.

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
