An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Trauma and Orthopaedics department within the Division of Surgery based at St. Albans City Hospital.
We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking waiting list coordinator with excellent customer care, experience of managing theatre waiting list. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in primarily being responsible for the arrangement of the admission of elective patients to the hospital and to participate in the operational management of the hospital’s waiting lists. The post requires a high level of concentration due to the complex nature of the building theatre list, also close attention to detail required at all times.
Our services are managed in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, as well as resource constraints. The post holder will need to be organised with excellent people skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and to supportively manage teams through periods of change. The post holder will need to have a good understanding of using computer applications such as excel. The successful candidate will need to meet directly and frequently with your surgical consultants/team to ensure theatre list volume and the case mix are correct thus ensuring theatre efficiency is maximized.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
