An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated nurse with dermatology/oncology/skin cancer experience to join our team at Watford General Hospital, our acute site within West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated nurse to provide support, information and advice to our skin cancer patients and support these patients throughout their pathway.
The post holder will be pivotal to the co-ordination of the further development of our skin cancer Service.
You should have sound knowledge of oncology/skin cancer and managing patients through their treatment.
You will be the key worker for patients diagnosed with skin cancers, providing a link between patients and health care professionals across all health care settings to improve the patient pathway.
The post holder will give advice and implement patient care in an area which requires specific oncology/clinical knowledge, skills and experience, so you will have significant post registration experience at Band 6/7 and evidence of post-registration study in oncology/skin cancer.
You must also demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. The ability to organise and prioritise your own workload is essential.
The post holder will be well supported and will work closely with colleagues across the multidisciplinary and palliative care /cancer specialist nursing teams.
We encourage prospective applicants to visit the Trust prior to interview
