West Herts Hospitals NHS Trust (WHHT) is a busy and dynamic acute trust covering a population of 700,000 across 3 sites in beautiful Hertfordshire (Watford, Hemel Hempstead, and St Albans).
The cardiology department is particularly forward thinking with 10 consultant cardiologists, 2 catheter laboratories and the full range of invasive and non-invasive cardiology including PCI, complex device implantation and EP.
There are 3 Cardiac CRM & EP Consultants who take an active role in the educational development of Cardiac Physiologists who also occasionally chair the monthly CRM meetings where unusual cases and operational issues are discussed.
The CRM department implants approximately 40 bradycardia devices and 15 CRT/ICD devices a month and this role will be crucial in supporting and delivering the increasing activity in complex devices implant and follow-up. EP sessions take place twice a week and further sessions are planned after the current review of Cardiology services at WHHT is concluded.
We are currently in the process of creating a joint post between West Herts and Imperial with a split week - 3 days Watford and 2 at Imperial for those candidates with an interest in complex EP.
We are seeking to recruit an exceptionally skilled CRM specialist at Band 7, who shows evidence of excellent clinical ability and is eager to develop their managerial skills. The successful candidate would be someone who has some experience in both training and managing within CRM but would also relish the challenge of taking part in developing the IT structure of the department and it’s aspiration to become paperless.
The post holder will help the Lead in CRM to further develop and implement a rigorous quality assurance (QA) programme and accreditation with BHRS or IBHRE (or equivalent) is essential. Any personal research or clinical interests including ongoing postgraduate study will be supported where possible.
