Band 3 - Booking Scheduler, Respiratory
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Respiratory Medicine based at Hemel Hempstead General Hospital, part of West Hertfordshire NHS Trust for a Booking scheduler to join our current team.
The department is responsible for providing Respiratory services to Hertfordshire. The department is recently expanded its portfolio due to increasing activity and population growth.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To register patient details on the patient administration system, ensuring a high level of data accuracy.
To track and manage referrals that require grading from the Consultants by managing a referral system.
To regularly validate the weekly Patient Tracking Log (PTL) for the designated specialties by tracking, booking and closing patient’s episodes and pathways where appropriate, ensuring that all new patients are booked according to current waiting time targets and the PTL is complete by the monthly/weekly deadline.
To update and submit weekly feedback on the PTL to the Administration Managers and Assistant Divisional Manager.
To prioritise, book and change appointments on both PAS and the Choose & Book System on a daily basis according to clinical urgency and 2WW/RTT targets. Ensure that all patient referrals received as a 2 week wait basis or Urgent are booked according to WHHT and national policy. To highlight any referrals that require urgent attention and deal with them promptly; this may involve discussions with the medical/divisional teams directly to arrange where the patient needs to be booked.
