This post offers an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join an award winning well established inpatient therapy team. The position will be based at Watford Hospital.
The role will enable you to consolidate your clinical experience within Elderly Care by working alongside a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist, Band 8a. You will be able to develop/further develop your leadership/management/service development skills in a very supportive environment.
We as a Trust are committed to developing our staff. Successful candidates will be supported by a robust supervision, appraisal and a probationary framework. There are plenty of opportunities for internal and external training and course funding through the department links, particularly with the University of Hertfordshire.
The inpatient therapy team is fully integrated (Physio/OT) and aims to provide a high standard of evidence based assessment and treatment to maximise patients’ potential. The physiotherapy service on the Care of the Elderly wards includes the management of the acutely ill patient, and rehabilitation prior to discharge or transfer to Intermediate Care/Other community services.
The post holder will be able to demonstrate specialist clinical skills within the areas of respiratory, rehabilitation and falls management. The successful candidate will also ideally have experience in staff development and teaching.
Watford Hospital itself is a busy district general hospital but is forward thinking as to how best to develop services to benefit the patients care.
It is well situated for access to the main motorways (M25 and M1) and has fast train links in to central London. The town centre has a wide range of shops and restraunts but it is also surrounded by some beautiful countryside and open spaces.
Core service hours are:
7 day service – 8.00am to 16.00pm; 8.15am – 16.30pm; 10.00am – 18.00pm
1:4 – 1:6 weekend working frequency for 0.5 WTE and above staff.
1:8 – 1:12 weekend working frequency for 0.49 WTE and below staff.
