Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Children Services Department at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and committed Medical Secretary to join the secretarial team at Watford General Hospital for three of our neonatal consultants.
The successful applicant will need to have experience in audio typing, a previous medical secretary role preferably within paediatrics, excellent communication, organisational and advanced I.T skills.
Main duties of the job
They will need to Provide an efficient and comprehensive secretarial service to the Consultants and multi-disciplinary team; possessing the essential qualifications outlined in the attached Person Specification.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the children’s service consultants and medical teams. The role comprises a wide range of specific duties and requires skills in word processing, information technology, communication and organisation as well as a sound knowledge and understanding of medical terminology. The post holder must be willing to undertake any additional training necessary in order to fulfil the role.
