West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust Midwifery Service has a new Senior Management Team led by Dr Gloria Rowland our Associate Director of Midwifery and Gynaecology. West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust serves a large, diverse multicultural population. There are over 5500 births per year in our maternity unit in Watford, of which over a 1000 are within the midwifery led birth centre.

Our Deputy Matron - Delivery Suite and Triage post is an exciting developmental opportunity. You will be an experienced clinical practitioner with excellent communication skills and be able to work within the wider multi-disciplinary team, demonstrating inclusive and compassionate leadership skills and the ability to support women in safe care pathways.

Your leadership skills will place you in a position to share your knowledge and expertise with others, ensuring women receive individualised care in the appropriate place and experience high standards of quality and satisfaction in the care they receive.

You will act as a resource and support for the team on for 0.4WTE of the post, undertake management responsibilities in supporting the Matron for 0.4WTE of the post and work clinically for 0.2WTE. (The post holder will be ward based and clinical for 60% of the time).

A comprehensive knowledge of Safeguarding is essential to support targeted care to a vulnerable population.

We have links with Hertfordshire Universities and support ongoing professional development. We also offer an extensive range of in house study days.
