We have exciting opportunities for Paediatric Trained Staff Nurses to join us here in Children’s Services at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides extremely comprehensive Paediatric and Neonatal services. The Paediatric service operates across two hospital sites. (Watford has acute Paediatrics and out patients and Hemel Hempstead has a Paediatric outpatient service).
Main duties of the job
We provide both Acute Paediatric Inpatient Care and an Ambulatory Service. Our service configuration is a Paediatric Inpatient Ward which includes High Dependency Unit, Children’s Emergency Department, and a brand new Paediatric Assessment, Paediatric Day-care and Paediatric Outpatients. In addition there is neonatal special care, high dependency and intensive care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To work as a skilled member of the nursing team, to provide a high standard of holistic family
centred care to the children and their families.
To act as a role model and expert clinical practitioner.
To support the senior sister in managing the clinical area, including management of staff, acting
as team leader, including addressing staff developmental needs through IPR.
To undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of the Ward / Unit
Manager
The post holder could be required to work on any site where HPT provide acute services for
children, according to the needs of the service.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
